Mawlamyine is the fourth largest city in Myanmar and the capital of Mon State. The population of this city is about 400,000. It is located on the bank of mighty Thanlwin River and about 300 kms far from Yangon. You may see some colonial buildings in down town of Mawlamyine as it was the capital of lower Burma at the time of British Colonial. Thanlwin Bridge which is the longest road and rail bridge of Myanmar (4.1 miles (6,600 m)) is situated in Mawlamyine as a land mark. Kyaik Than Lan pagoda is the most famous place in Mawlamyine. Other visiting places such as Mahamuni pagoda Image, Sein Done Mi Phayar Monastery, View Point, colonial buildings in downtown area, Myoma Market and waterfront of Mawlamyine are also interesting too.
