Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) is an important pilgrimage site for Myamar Buddhists. The attraction of the toursits is because of small golden stupa which is magically situated on the edge of a cliff. It is 160 km away from Yangon and the pagoda is at an altitude of 1100km above sea level. Some hikers can do hiking for 11 km from the base comp up to the pagoda. Or tourists can take local trucks from the base camp to the mountain by sharing with the diversities of local pilgrims from the whole country. On arrival to the pagoda, we can see the amazing, spectacular and panoramic view, especially at sunrise or sunset.

Cable Cars in Kyaikhtiyo pagoda (Golden Rock), Mon State, Myanmar
The very first cable cars project is now installed 43 cable cars with a capacity of eight persons each is now operating from Yathay Taung to Kyaikhtiyo pagoda platform.
Instead of local truck cars, the tourists can try the cable cars for the half way by enjoying the mountain views along the way up to Kyaikhiyo pagoda platform.

The fee for cable car ride is USD 5 per person (Foreigner). It was launched its service since 16 December 2017.
