Sat Sat Yoe Village is known as for their ancient Satyitwine Hair Style and situated in Nyaung Oo Township (1.5 hr) drive from Myanmar’s Ancient city Bagan. Sat Sat Yo village became a famous popular tourist site due to its children sporting the country's ancient hairstyle. Before colonial period, all of the country's boys and girls wore their hair in this manner. However Sat Sat Yo village is the only place left in Myanmar where children still have their hair tied in this traditional style. A day trip to this village from Bagan/Nyaung Oo is fascinating. The village is charming and the resident Monks very welcoming. The villagers growing or harvesting seasonal crops in their surrounding fields and it is great to experience a truly rural community.
